Meet David Wood

David Wood began work in the sail making industry at 16 years old, as a 'nipper' at Linton Sails in Wellington. Since then he has worked for all the major lofts, qualifying as a sail maker in 2006 through the BITO sail making apprenticeship programme.

An avid sailor himself, he specialises in all things sailing, and has worked for grand prix race yachts, travelling and sailing around the world.

He spent 20 years developing his technical skills, working alongside various qualified and experienced sail makers before using his skills and experience to start his own loft, SeamTech Sails and Covers.

Since SeamTech’s inception in 2020, David has completed projects for America's cup boats and Sail GP, as well as building sails for local race and cruising yachts. He has also completed many covers projects, from boat covers, dodgers, boom covers, etc. and undertakes servicing and repair work.

David believes in using quality materials to produce quality custom made products that stand the test of time and conditions.
